Lincoln was elected.
On a train to D.C.,
he was going to be killed.
Many death threats,
no worries.
This time was different.
Rumors spread.
Going through Baltimore,
no stopping,
not taking that chance.
No one needed to die.
No one did die,
for they were safe this time.
There would be many other times.
It was real on April 15, 1865.
